The Glass Museum aims to bring you in-depth articles about a wide range of glass. The photograph above is from the most recent article, "Glass Hand Vases" by Marinka Bozzec, edited by Angela Bowey. These designs first became popular in the 1870s and since that time they have been made in every kind of glass from just about every country that made glass. Glass Encyclopedia News

The Glass Encyclopedia has several recent new pages. Amongst the latest additions are Thomas Webb and Sons glass, one of the great Stourbridge glassworks; Chance glass, an industrial giant of a company that made glass in Smethwick, England, from 1824 to 1981; Akro Agate glass , the American marble makers who turned to art glass in the 1930s; Hazel Atlas glass , established in 1902 and one of the great Depression glass producers; and Fire-King glass, dinnerware and kitchenware first made in 1942 by Anchor Hocking.
